We made it!!! All in one piece...or rather, three pieces. I'm still pretty jet-lagged and out of it, but here are a few pictures so far.
Before we left Aunt DeAnn's house, Rocco got put in the backyard with the dogs. I'll take that as a good thing?
Getting ready for our roller-coaster ride flight! We just pretended we were on a ride at Lagoon to help preserve DeAnn's nerves. Airplanes can stress her out. It actually was probably one of the best plane rides I've ever had. I'll tell ya, I've always made fun of neck pillows but they sure do make a huge difference. Definitely a fan. (and DeAnn is HILARIOUS! We love her muchly. She already began our family history excursion by telling us tons of stories that we didn't know)
In the Atlanta airport there were lots of outfits designed out of recyclable materials. It reminded me of the class I took at USU. This was one of our favorites...a fiesta dress out of Target bags! Stunning. haha
The train ride from the airport had lots of pretty countryside. We were on the wrong side of the train to get most of the good pictures but here's a small taste of it. The black part at the top of the hill is called the moor.
Hotel Tracey (a.k.a my sister Heidi's house) is truly a 5-star hotel. We even had our own individual razors laid out for us at the side of the tub. Such service!
Heidi's cute bedroom!
We had a beautiful breakfast waiting for us when we got there. Hot chocolate, crepes, fresh fruit, quiche, and fruit corner yogurt. Yum! I think I've eaten like 7 meals in the last 24 hours. Oh dear. That's the really bad part about traveling and changing time schedules.
After a nap, we went to the Royal Armories. DeAnn stayed home and slept though. Here are a few pictures from the museum. We learned about jousting, knights in shining armor, and even oriental warriors.
Have a mustache? Don't worry! You can keep your identity even in battle. Although, no one can see anything through those eye-slits anyways so I'm not sure it makes much difference on the battle field.
Heidi and Michelle heading towards downtown Leeds.
The Corn Exchange. It's like a miniature mall. Super cute!
After pizza and hot chocolate that was dropped off right at our door, we cuddled up and relaxed. Heidi made sure our relaxing needs were taken care of. As you can see, sometimes we have little too much fun...
Oh wow. So cool. So glad I got to read about it.
ReplyDeleteFun Jules! I'm excited to follow you. :) Side note, you have inspired me to post on my blog... Something that hasn't been done for quite some time. Thanks! :) I hope you're better at keeping up on your blog than I've been so far.
