This morning I was woken by a plate of food being placed on top of me. haha. I was given breakfast before I even opened my eyes! Then before I even brushed my teeth, our ride was here. I guess I need to go to bed earlier. Starr (one of the members in Heidi's ward who has the cutest kids) gave us a ride in her car to Fountains Abbey. It's basically just a bunch of ruins from a huge abbey where the monks used to live. It was SO cool! I love ancient ruins. I could explore them all day. DeAnn stayed home and rested and that was probably really good, because by the end of our excursion we were all exhausted. It was definitely a lot of hiking around.
Michelle and I riding in the car. The countryside was SO pretty but almost impossible to capture on camera.
Starr is incredible and trucks her girls around like this all the time! She's like superhero mom! I should learn from her example. Then I'll stay super in shape.
Here's Fountain's Abbey. It's huge! We were there for hours and still didn't see it all.
We took SO many pictures inside but I will post most of them on facebook. I think everyone was sick of me asking to take pictures, but there were so many great opportunities! I just couldn't resist.
Michelle decided that we should all wear straw hats today. EVERYONE commented on them! haha. We had fun. I actually kind of fell in love with mine.
At the end we walked a mile and hiked up a hill to get pictures of the Abbey from a distance.
Later we went to a museum that had victorian shops and things, and there were clothes you could dress up in. They were a little small for us but we did our best to take advantage of them...haha
On the way up the stairs at the museum there were popcorn pictures cut out of magazines. It totally reminded us of mom. hahaha (she loves to cut pictures out of magazines and make collages). WE LOVE YOU MOM!!!
For dinner we went to a carvery. It was so yummy!
You get a certain amount of meat and yorkshire puddings. Then you take as many veggies as you want and drown everything in lots of gravy!
DeAnn was craving something sweet after dinner, so we went to the grocery store and bought Magnum bars. This was DeAnn's very first Magnum ever. They are so yummy! Basically it's the greatest ice cream bar popsicle that you could ever imagine. For those of you who haven't had them, you can find them in some grocery stores back home or even in the vending machines at BYU. They're definitely worth the price! Oh man, one of my favorite treats in Europe.
After dinner we just came home and chilled. I washed my shoes and dried them with the blow drier (very effective. haha). We were going to play cards but just ended up doing makeovers and talking. Michelle even gave Mortimer a haircut.
