5/19/2012--Haworth, 1940's

Today the three of us went to Haworth with some of Heidi's friends.  The entire city was having a 1940's day and there were tons of festivities and people dressed up.  I had my doubts about it, but it was so much fun! We totally dressed up (although it's harder to tell in the picture above with our coats), and I was so glad we did!

We totally dressed up (although it's harder to tell in the picture above with our coats), and I was so glad we did! Heidi's hat was a true winner. haha. Love it!

The streets were totally decked out in British (and some American) flags. It was way cool.

And there were tons of super old cars, which I was totally crazy about!

It seriously was the biggest blast from the past ever. I really felt like I got a glimpse of what it was like to live in the forties. I totally felt like I was there! Even a lot of the shops were modeled after shops that you would find back then, and the people walking around were decked out and super authentic. A lot of them had some sort of army uniform on (both British and American), but there were a lot of civilians too.

Like these two lovely ladies! :)

There were live bands and some 40's dancing, and Heidi danced with this cute little old man. It was awesome.

I had a huge moment of weakness today. We came across this little tent selling the most adorable scarves ever, and I could not make decisions for the life of me! I loved ALL of them! Then of course they had to have a deal if you got 3, so we had to buy in 3's. We ended up buying 12 of them which is ridiculous! Five of those were mine. The lady who worked there was this super cute lady from France and she was so stylish. She gave us an extra free scarf because we bought so many.  I really do love every single one of them, but I have way too many now.  Sometimes I just don't know what to do with myself.

After we left Haworth, we all went to Krispy Kreme doughnuts (which is super expensive here).  Then we just came home and chilled! It was a fantastic day that I will probably never forget.
